Austin College fell in each of its two road victories over the weekend, dropping a 2-0 decision at Colorado College and a 2-1 game against Hendrix. The 'Roos are now 5-7-2 overall and 1-5 in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with the two defeats. After Colorado College scored once in each half on Friday despite seven saves by Grant Gosselin, the 'Roos traveled to Conway to take on Hendrix, where Sam Temple gave Austin College an early lead but the Warriors quickly countered and the teams eventually took the match to overtime, where Hendrix scored in the 93rd minute to make it a 2-1 final. Gosselin had another strong game, making 11 saves in the net. Chris Stein and Chris Melton each had assists on the Temple goal. This week the 'Roos head to the University of Dallas on Saturday.

Birmingham-Southern split on the road this week, defeating Millsaps on Friday, 1-0, but falling to Rhodes on Sunday, 3-1. Senior Garner Shivers scored both of the Panthers' goals this week. BSC plays only one game this week, traveling to Atlanta to face Oglethorpe on Saturday at 1 p.m. Eastern.

Centre traveled to Monteagle, TN this past weekend for a single conference game against travel partner Sewanee-University of the South. On a chilly Friday night, Sewanee scored late in the first half off a set piece to lead 1-0 at the break. But just ten minutes into the second half, junior Josh Settle (Bowling Green, KY) scored his sixth goal of the season for Centre off an assist from senior Austin Hall (Indianapolis, IN) to tie the game at 1-1. The game headed into overtime, where both teams were unable to find the back of the net, the game resulting in a tie. In the game, the Colonels outshot the Tigers 20-17 and had 7 corners to their 4. Senior Chris Jackson (Oxford, OH) earned the tie in goal for Centre. With the tie, Centre’s record sits at 8-3-2 overall and 3-1-1 in conference. The Colonels will host Maryville College (TN) on Monday night before getting back into SCAC play this weekend. Rhodes College travels in on Friday night for Homecoming and Millsaps College comes in on Sunday afternoon for Senior Day.

Colorado College improved to 6-1-2 at home with victories over Austin (2-0) and Dallas (2-1). Junior forward Matt Fechter had a goal and an assist in the same game for the fifth time in his career to lead CC against the ‘Roos. Fechter set up senior midfielder Chris Lutz for what proved to be the game-winning goal with a perfect cross from 30 yards out on the right side in the 12th minute. Lutz put a header in from eight yards out from the left post to record the team's third consecutive game-winning goal. Fechter doubled the Tigers' lead in the 64th minute when he converted on a penalty kick after Austin was called for a handball inside the penalty box. He put a low shot into the right side of the net to improve to 2-for-2 on PK's this season. Forrest Marowitz made four saves en route to his third shutout of the season and second in league play. Junior forward Daniel Wright factored in both second-half goals as Colorado College overcame an early deficit to record a 2-1 victory over Dallas on Sunday. Wright's touch pass off a cross from Lutz enabled sophomore forward Sean Parham to square the game in the 62nd minute. A little more than 14 minutes later, Wright chased down a pass from junior defender Ben Sandalow, raced past the Crusader defenders and beat the goalkeeper with a hard shot to the right side. Wright's tally was his third game winner of the season and marked the first time in his career he recorded a goal and an assist in the same game. Marowitz made two saves while improving to 4-1-3 on the season. CC plays its final three games of the regular season on the road, beginning Friday and Sunday at Trinity and Southwestern.

Dallas
(3-8-1, 1-5) went 1-1 on the week in a pair of road matches. The Crusaders notched their first Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference win with a 3-2 road defeat of Hendrix College (Ark.) on Friday evening. Dallas then traveled to Colorado Springs, Colo., for a Sunday match with Colorado College. The Tigers edged the Crusaders, 2-1. Dallas will host both of their games this week -- Dallas Christian College (Friday) and Austin College (Saturday).

After going 1-1 over the weekend, the Warriors move to 2-3-1 in conference, and tied for seventh place in the league standings. On Friday night, Dallas opened the game with an early goal in the fourth minute. Junior Connor Silvestri tied the game with a shot that bounced off the bottom of the crossbar and into the goal. The goal was the 10th of the season for Silvestri, with seniors Collin Sitler and Duncan Keegan getting assists on the score. Dallas regained the lead in the 40th minute, but just 1:11 into the second half, Keegan netted his ninth goal of the season on a 35-yard pass by senior midfielder Colin Thompson, knotting the game at 2-2. UD's Preston Waltrip scored the game-winner off a Matthew Wise rebound in the 53rd minute. The Warriors' best chance of tying the game came with 3:58 left in the game when senior defender Ian Evans' shot hit the crossbar. Senior keeper Adam Legg recorded six saves for Hendrix. Thompson scored 2:18 into overtime to give Hendrix a 2-1 victory over Austin on Sunday afternoon. The Kangaroos scored early with a goal at the 3:25 mark. The Warriors tied the contest in the eighth minute when junior defender Grant Womack scored on a pass from senior midfielder Taylor Davenport. The game remained scoreless, until overtime. Keegan fired off two shots saved by 'Roos keeper Grant Gosselin and Thompson knocked in the second rebound for the game-winner. Hendrix pressured the Austin defense all game. The Warriors outshot the 'Roos 32-13 overall and 17-5 in shots on goal. Hendrix fired off six shots in the overtime. Hendrix will step out of conference on Tuesday for a home match with Centenary, before taking Southwestern and #5 Trinity in Texas on Friday and Sunday, respectively.

Millsaps
played a great 90 minutes of soccer, but could not find a way to knock off the Birmingham-Southern Panthers under the lights at Harper Davis Field. Despite outshooting the Panthers 11-8, Birmingham-Southern got the goal that counted late in the second half to beat Millsaps, 1-0. The Majors moved the ball well offensively and saw numerous opportunities to beat BSC goalkeeper Sveinbo Grimsson, but Millsaps could not capitalize. Sophomore Hayden Baker led the offensive attack with four shots, two of them on goal. They then hung tough with hung tough with the No. 25 team in the nation, but the Stormy Petrels of Oglethorpe proved to be too tough as they ran away to a 7-3 win on Sunday afternoon as Harper Davis Field. The Majors got goals from sophomore Trey Fontaine and freshman Martin Haaga and Christopher Lawrence. The Majors are back in action this weekend as they travel to Sewanee, Tennessee to take on the Sewanee Tigers. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. on Friday and then back on Sunday against Centre.

#25
Oglethorpe won their 8th and 9th straight games this past Friday and Sunday by topping Rhodes (W, 2-1) and Millsaps (W, 7-3). Playing for the first time as a nationally ranked team on Friday against Rhodes, the Petrels found themselves in a hole early on when the Lynx jumped in front with a strike in the 22nd minute. Rhodes was able to make that lead hold into the halftime intermission. After Oglethorpe only held a 5-4 advantage in shots taken in the first half, the Petrels dialed up the intensity in the second half and were rewarded for their efforts. In all, Oglethorpe would out-shoot the Lynx 12-2 in the second stanza en route to taking control of the game. The Petrels equalized in the 55th minute when Madej converted a penalty kick. He then kept the game from heading into overtime by scoring the game-winner with less than five minutes to play. Ben Robertson assisted Madej on the goal that helped set Oglethorpe's all-time win streak at 8. Leading 2-1 at halftime against Millsaps on Sunday, the Petrels exploded for 5 second half goals, four in a span of less than six minutes, to improve to 6-0 in SCAC play. Carlos Gaston tallied the first of his three goals on the afternoon to give the Petrels a 1-0 lead in the 33rd minute. After the Majors equalized quickly, Nick Williamson gave Oglethorpe a 2-1 lead heading into the break on a 43rd minute strike assisted by Gaston, who tallied 7 points in the win. Mark Lavery scored off a corner kick from Sean King to open up a 3-1 advantage early in the second half. Then, from the 70:03 mark until 76:02, Oglethorpe blasted four goals past the Majors to blow the contest wide open. Gaston began the flurry and Ivan Tchangam finished it, with Nathan Post and Gaston scoring the middle tallies of the four goal run. The Petrels are now 12-2-0 on the season, currently owning the best winning percentage in school history. A win over Birmingham-Southern this Saturday at 3:00 p.m. would match the school record for wins (13) in a season. The University will celebrate 50 years of soccer on the Oglethorpe campus during the Birmingham-Southern contest and all former players are encouraged to attend.

Rhodes
split a pair of home SCAC contests this past weekend. On Friday the Lynx fell to Oglethorpe 2-1 before bouncing back on Sunday to defeat Birmingham-Southern 3-1. Rhodes returns to the pitch this coming Friday to face Centre on the road in Danville.

Overtime has been the name of the game for Sewanee the past two weeks. For the second and third straight match of the month the Tigers battled their opponents to an extra period. First, against Centre Friday night, Sewanee and the Colonels battled to a 1-1 draw. In that contest Sewanee got a goal from freshman Ford Emerson, who headed home a pass from senior defender Will Morgan. Then on Sunday, Sewanee lost a 3-2 overtime match at Berry College. The Tigers got a goal from Stuart Maxey early in the contest that tied the match at 1-1. After Berry scored to open the second half, Sewanee bowed up with 22 seconds to play. After a Berry foul senior Matt Lightfoot sent a free kick inside the box, where fellow classmate Jeremy Abney tapped home the equalizer before time expired. Unfortunately, Berry was able to score in the extra period for the win.

Southwestern
had a light week of action with just one contest and fell 4-1 to SCAC powerhouse Trinity on Friday night. The Tigers used a strong first half attack, scoring three goals in the period, to defeat SU 4-1. The Pirates drop to 6-6-1 on the year and 3-2-0 in the SCAC, landing in sixth place in the conference. Thomas Davis scored the goal for SU, assisted by Ryan Jones, in the 80th minute. The rivalry game was physical as evidenced by the 25 fouls and five yellow cards. The Pirates return home this weekend to face Hendrix on Friday night and Colorado College on Sunday for senior day.

#5 Trinity
played just once this past week, but made it count with a 4-1 win over Southwestern University on Friday night. The Tigers led 3-0 at the half, and didn’t allow a goal until the 80th minute of the game. Trinity held a 21-5 advantage on shots taken. Josh Adams scored once in each period for the Tigers, and he also moved into the top 20 in career goals scored at Trinity. The Tigers continue SCAC play this weekend, hosting Colorado College and Hendrix College. Trinity defeated Hendrix 7-3 in Arkansas last season, and beat Colorado 6-0 at home.
