LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- Spring break trips took the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's tennis teams to both coasts to compete this week.
The Austin College men posted a 6-3 win over the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, posting the 'Roos fourth win in a row and moving to 5-4 on the season.
Schreiner University went 1-1 during their spring break trip. They began with a 9-0 win at Louisiana College, but fell to Loyola New Orleans on Wednesday. Their third match against Spring Hill was cancelled due to weather.
The Southwestern University Pirates took a spring break trip out west, competing against Whittier, Caltech and Occidental. The squad went 2-1 on the road, defeating Occidental (9-0) and Caltech (5-2), but falling short against Whittier (2-7).
Texas Lutheran had a dominant week, going 4-0 in road contests and giving up just one set point through all of the matches. The Bulldogs defeated Centenary College, University of the Ozarks and Howard Payne University all by 9-0 scores, and gave up one point to Hendrix College before an 8-1 rout.
No. 10 Trinity University went 1-1 on the week, falling to No. 9 Wesleyan (Conn.), 2-6, but defeating regionally-ranked Whittier, 8-1.
