LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the Scholar All-America teams for the fall 2015 semester and four Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s swimming & diving teams earned the honor, while two teams on the men’s side were recognized.
This award is presented to college or university swimming & diving teams who have achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or higher in the fall semester.
Colorado College, led by Head Coach Anne Goodman-James, earned the honor on both the men’s and women’s side. The CC men’s team holds the top GPA among all Division III men’s swimming & diving teams, recording a 3.63, improving slightly over the team’s GPA last fall (3.61).
The women’s team was recognized with the sixth-best GPA in Division III women’s swimming & diving, 3.62. This improved from last year’s GPA of 3.51, and moved them up six spots in the overall ranking.
Southwestern University was the only other SCAC program to earn recognition for both men and women. Led by Head Coach Jon Duncan, the Pirates posted GPAs of 3.24 on the women’s side and 3.12 for the men. This is the ninth consecutive semester for the women’s program.
The Trinity University women, led by Head Coach John Ryan, posted a GPA of 3.47, while Austin College’s women rounded out the group with a 3.27. The ‘Roos are led by Head Coach Bob Filander.
Founded in 1922, the CSCAA is the nation's oldest professional organization of college coaches. Its mission is to serve and provide leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
