Donnan, a defender, was selected for the All-America First Team, while Polasek, a midfielder, made the Second Team. The two Tigers were instrumental in Trinity’s successful 19-1-2 season. Twelfth-year Head Coach Lance Key guided the team to a 10th Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship, and to the NCAA Playoffs for the 11th time during his tenure. Trinity advanced to the NCAA second round, in two games played on the Tigers field.
The signature Tiger defense, of which Donnan anchored, yielded only six goals over 22 games. Trinity also shut out its opponents a total of 17 times during the campaign. Donnan contributed to the offensive side of the game by scoring three goals and making one assist.
Polasek was an offensive threat, blasting in seven goals and two game-winners. She also shelled out two assists, and picked up 16 points. Trinity scored 82 goals in the course of the season, for an average of 3.73 per game.
Earlier, Donnan and Polasek were honored by selection to the NSCAA All-West Region First Team. They also earned positions on the All-SCAC Team. Donnan and Polasek will be recognized with their fellow All-Americans at the 2016 NSCAA Convention January 16 at Baltimore, Maryland.
