KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Trinity University women’s soccer moves up in the latest national rankings after beginning the season 2-0-1.
The National Soccer Coaches’ Association of America released their first set of rankings this season, with Trinity moving up one spot to No. 5. Trinity also jumped one spot in the D3soccer.com poll, coming in at No. 7 with 670 points.
The Tigers took down Our Lady of the Lake University and Pomona-Pitzer Colleges by identical scores of 1-0 in the first week of play. OLLU is nationally ranked in NAIA play, while Pomona-Pitzer is the fifth ranked team in the West region by NSCAA.
In the second week of competition, the Tigers ended in a double-overtime draw with No. 11 University of Texas-Tyler.
Trinity will begin conference play Tuesday evening, taking on Schreiner University at home. They will continue their schedule this weekend with another conference match-up at the University of Dallas, before traveling to Lynchburg, Va. to face off against the top-ranked Hornets Sunday.
