McCormack, the only relief pitcher named to this week's team, retired all nine batters he faced last Friday to earn a three-inning save against Centenary. The left-hander fanned four and needed only 37 pitches (26 strikes) to close out the game.
McCormack, who missed the last two seasons while rehabbing from Tommy John surgery, has made four appearances out of the bullpen this year. In eight innings of work, he has allowed only one earned run and struck out seven.
The Pirates return to action on Friday against No. 18 Concordia Texas.
