LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association released the Division III Top 25 poll for the seventh week of competition. Colorado College (25-2) remains at 8th spot despite a 3-2 loss to 9th-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater. Southwestern University (23-2) rose from 14th to 11th after going 4-0 on the weekend including a victory over 12th-ranked Claremont Mudd-Scripps.
The Tigers had a perfect weekend aside from the 3-2 loss to UW-Whitewater including a victory over 16th-ranked Wisconsin-Stevens Point. CC improved to 25-2 overall, and will take on conference rivals Schreiner, Trinity, Texas Lutheran and 11th-ranked Southwestern this weekend. The Tigers and Pirates face off on Friday on their home court.
Southwestern won a five-set-thriller against 12th-ranked Claremont Mudd-Scripps last weekend before going on to defeat Chapman, Occidental and Pomona Pitzer. The Pirates are also fourth in the nation in kills per set, sixth in assists per set and digs per set, and seventh in match win-loss percentage.
