LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) released the Scholar All-America teams for spring 2016, with 658 collegiate swimming and diving programs earning the honor, including four women’s and three men’s Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference teams.
Colorado College had both teams earn the honor for the sixth semester in a row. The women posted a GPA of 3.53, while the CC men hold a 3.60 GPA, fifth among all Division III men’s swimming & diving programs.
Austin College's men and women also earned the honor. The men's program ranked second among SCAC schools, holding a GPA of 3.14. The women held a team GPA of 3.35, which also ranked second in the league.
Southwestern University’s swimming & diving program rounded out the SCAC teams, with the women earning recognition for the 10th consecutive semester, posting a 3.34 GPA. The men also earned the honor after posting a 3.03 GPA.
Trinity University's women earned the honor for the fifth semester in a row with a 3.33 GPA.
To be selected as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team, programs must have achieved a grade point average of 3.00 or higher over the spring semester.
Founded in 1922, the CSCAA is the nation's oldest professional organization of college coaches. Its mission is to serve and provide leadership for the advancement of the sport of swimming and diving at the collegiate level.
