BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – After Saturday's 44-27 road win over Sul Ross State, the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs moved up three spots, from No. 21 to No. 18, in this week's D3football.com Top 25 poll for Week 1.
The Bulldogs' ranking of 18th is the program's highest position ever in the D3football.com Top 25 poll.
TLU ended 2014 at No. 19 in the D3football.com. The Bulldogs were ranked 21st in this year's preseason poll.
The Bulldogs were 13th in the 2015 preseason poll issued by Sporting News. The American Football Coaches Association has yet to release a poll in 2015 for NCAA Division III.
TLU rolled up 575 yards of total offense and collected five turnovers in the win.
The Bulldogs had a 300-yard passer (Trenton White), two 100-yard receivers (Jekovan Holmes and Caleb Oliver) and a 100-yard rusher (Marquis Barrolle). Oliver caught a TD pass for the ninth straight game.
On defense, freshman safety Justus Parke intercepted two passes, and senior cornerback Jordan Sims intercepted a pass and recovered a fumble.
The Bulldogs host Hardin-Simmons University at 6 p.m. Saturday in TLU's Bulldog Stadium. HSU received votes in the latest D3football.com Top 25 poll.
