FORMBY, England -- The Golf Coaches Association of America released the 2016 Division III PING All-America teams Wednesday and Schreiner University's Phillip Stewart earned the recognition.
Stewart added this honor to his impressive list of awards this year, which includes First Team All-SCAC, GCAA All-West Region and he was named a finalist for the Jack Nicklaus Award, which is given to golf's national player of the year.
On the season, Stewart held a scoring average of 73.64, which is third best in Schreiner's NCAA history. He ranked fifth in the nation heading into the NCAA tournament, where he was selected to compete as an individual.
This is the third year in a row that Schreiner has had one or more golfers earn PING All-American honors and the 16th year in a row that a SCAC men's golfer has been recognized.
