NEW YORK, NY - A total of 32 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference football players have been selected for the 27th USA College Football Division III Preseason All-American Teams.
The SCAC upped their total from a season ago which saw 19 players on the first, second, third, and honorable mention teams.
On the first team, Austin College had thee selections in seniors Madison Ross, Brett Vaughn, and Brooks Ward while Justin Broussard of Southwestern was of a hand full of juniors named to the team.
Texas Lutheran had the most first teamers with five in Trenton White, Marquis Barrolle, Matt Hochstrasser, Andrew Syrinek, and Drake Dowling while Trinity had one in Frankie Arndt.
On the second team, Texas Lutheran had one in A.J. Saucedo while Trinity had three on the team in Jeremy Simmons, Alejandro Anzakdua and Luke Packard.
No SCAC player was named to the third team, but many earned a spot on the Honorable Mention team, which can be found below.
Texas Lutheran led the way with 12 honors while Trinity and Southwestern each had nine. Austin College had three on the teams.
The SCAC football season kicks off on September 5th as all four schools will be in action.
