Courtney Lauer Earns All-America Honors on Day Two of the NCAA Track and Field Championships

BEREA, Ohio — DePauw junior Courtney Lauer earned all-America honors at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, with a sixth-place finish in the heptathlon.

Lauer totaled a school-record 4,581 points in the event. On Thursday, she was seventh in the shot put, ninth in the high jump, 11th in the 200 meters and 16th in the 100 hurdles. She followed that up with an eighth-place showing in the javelin and second in the 800 meters on Friday.

Molly Buck of Rhodes competed in the 100-meter hurdles finishing 15th on a time of 14.70 seconds. Buck did not qualify for the finals in the 100-meter hurdles, however she will compete tomorrow in the 400-meter hurdle finals.

On the men's side, Zach Brush of Trinity advanced to the 800-meter finals. 

Brush, from Edmond, Okla., ran the event in 1:51.16. It was the second best time of the day, surpassed only by Emmanuel Bofa of Whitworth, who clocked in at 1:50.86. Bofa took the race out hard, with Brush sitting in fifth place and coming through the 400 at a speedy 54. Zach finished hard with a solid 57 for the second lap and passed three runners in the process.

The 800-meter finals are slated for Saturday at 3 p.m. Eastern Time.
