Southwestern, DePauw and Centre all in top 10 after Day Three of NCAA Championships

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - Southwestern University, DePauw University and Centre College all stand in the top ten of the leader board headed into the final round of the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship. Southwestern is sixth, DePauw seventh and Centre is tied for ninth.

Southwestern senior Kristen Davenport needed just one swing of the club on the par three eighth hole as she sank a hole-in-one from 135 yards out. She led the way for the Pirates shooting a spectacular three-over-par and helping SU move up three spots to sixth place.

Davenport improved nine places to finish the day in 13th place at 24 over par. She is just one stroke out of the top 10.

Fourth-ranked DePauw shot a third-round 340 and is in a tie for seventh with Williams with a 1025 at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championships at the Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort.

Erin Kielty shot an 88 today and is tied for 26th with a 252, while Taylor Beaty is in 30th with a 253 after shooting 79 today. Natalie Gough is tied for 44th with a 260 after a third-round 88. Camila Romero shot an 88 today and is tied for 52nd with a 263 and Kelly Gaughan is tied for 57th with a 264 after a third-round 264.

Centre is tied for ninth place with a team score of 1030. The Colonels shot a 349 the first day, a 344 the second day, and they had their best round today with a 339.

Sophomore Emily Bachert has lead the way for the Centre women during the three day period. She is currently tied for ninth place at the women's tournament after shooting a personal best at the tournament with a 75. Her three day score is a 242 after recording an 83 and an 84 on the first two days of action.

Rhodes College's Stephanie Mingos, competing as an individual, is in a tie for sixth place. Mingos fired a five over par 78 on day three. She is just one stroke back of fifth place and just seven back of first place.

Methodist leads the field with a 965 followed by Wisconsin-Eau Claire and Gustavus Adolphus at 985 each. Individually, St. Mary's (Ind.) Natalie Matuszak leads the way with a 233.
