BEREA, Ohio - Centre College junior Chrys Jones won his third national title in the triple jump following a win at the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Men's Track and Field Championships on Saturday. Trinity University's Zach Brush added an all-America performance of his own in the 800 meters.

Jones won the championship in the triple jump after recording a mark of 49'9.75". He beat 16 other competitors in the event.

"I am extremely proud of the effort that Chrys gave today. He has worked extremely hard during the season and is dedicated to the sport and the event. His hard work and dedication paid off and he deserves this championship," said head coach Lisa Owens.

"I am really excited about winning this championship after the challenges that I have had to overcome this season. I appreciate all the support that I have received from everyone, especially from my coaches and teammates," said Jones.

He was named an all-American for his performance. Jones has been named an all-American four times so far while at Centre. During his freshman year he received the honor at the NCAA Indoor Championships in the long jump event and he has received it three times in the triple jump event.

Last year, Jones won the event at Nationals setting a new Don Drumm Stadium record and a new school record as he jumped 50'3.25". The 2009 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships took place in Marietta, Ohio at Marietta College. He also won the triple jump event at the 2010 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field National Championships in Greencastle, Ind., at DePauw University with a jump of 49'3.50".
