DePauw, Southwestern & Centre move up leader board on Day Two of NCAA Tournament

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. - DePauw University, Southwestern University and Centre College all moved up the leader board during the second round of the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship on Wednesday. DePauw is sixth, Southwestern tied for ninth and Centre is 11th.

Southwestern made the biggest jump in the standings going from 15th on day one to a tie for ninth after the second round. The Pirates were led by senior Kristen Davenport. She returned to her sensational playing form with an eight over par on the day including shooting a phenominal two over par on the back nine. She is tied for 22nd place at 21 over par with 167 strokes.

Hot on Davenport's heels is first-year Kelsey Coburn. Coburn continues to play well with a nine over par performance, shooting +6 on the front nine and +3 on the back nine. She is just one stroke behind at 168 and 22 over par but is tied for 27th place.

DePauw jumped up one spot to sixth with led by Erin Kielty and Natalie Gough who each shot a +11 (84) in the second round. With two rounds complete, the Tigers (685) are just one stroke back of Williams (684) for fifth place. Gough wrapped up a difficult round by shooting a 2 over par on the back nine on Wednesday. 

Centre nearly entered the top 10 on day two. The Colonels (691) find themselves just one stroke back of Olivet College (690) for ninth place. Centre's Emily Bachert had a tough day in shooting a +11 (84). However, on the back nine Bachert birdied three of her first five holes enroute to a +2 on the back nine.

Rhodes College's Stephanie Mingos, competing as an individual, is in a tie for eighth place. Mingos fired a 10 over par 83 on day two. She is just two strokes back of fifth place and just six back of second place.

Defending national champion Methodist University sits atop the leader board after a two round total of 650 strokes. The Monarchs find themselves with a narrow one stroke lead over the Wisconsin-Eau Claire Blugolds. UW-Eau Claire shot a second round low score of 320.
