MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Millsaps College senior defensive lineman Mason Burrell became the second Major of the day to gain a weekly accolade, joining teammate Taylor Russolino, after being named to D3football.com's National Team of the Week.
Burrell entered last Saturday's game at Mississippi College with
a career-high of just four tackles, but shattered that in the first
half with nine en route to a game-high 15 for the evening in a
losing effort. Burrell also had 3.0 tackles-for-loss and a half a
sack.
The weekly accolade is the first of Burrell's career, also being
named one of two Millsaps Players of the Week on Monday by the
sports information department.
Millsaps will host NAIA rival Belhaven College at 1 p.m. on
Saturday.
