HOW IT HAPPENED
- After claiming two individual titles on Friday, Trinity came back on Saturday and took top honors in four more events.
- After taking top honors in the 3,000 meter steeplechase on Friday, Trinity's Molly McCullough secured her second individual title with a first-place finish in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:09.67. She is the first woman to double up with titles in both the 3,000 steeple and the 5,000 meters at the same championship since former Trinity student-athlete and current assistant coach Emily (Loeffler) Daum accomplished the feat in 2009.
- Abigail Bannon-Schneeback was a double-winner on Saturday. For the third consecutive year, she took top honors in both the 100 meter hurdles (14.84) and 400 meter hurdles (1:03.40).
- Trinity's Andy Garza won her second consecutive 400 meter title, taking top honors this year with a time of 58.59.
- The Tigers also claimed top honors in the 4x100 relay as Madi Gammill, Garza, Androniki Defteraiou and Bannon-Schneebeck teamed up to post a time of 49.54. It is the fifth-consecutive year Trinity has won the evet - the longest consecutive winning streak by any program in conference meet history.
- Colorado College's Camille Weaver was named SCAC Female Athlete of the Meet with an impressive 42 points accumulated. She won both the long jump (17' 8") and high jump (5' 5") with the latter tying the second-highest leap in the conference meet history. She was also second in the 100 meter hurdles, second in the javelin, and third in the triple jump.
- Texas Lutheran's Ashley Rynard and Ashley Myers both were double-winners for the Bulldogs. For the second consecutive year, Rynard finished first in both the 800 (2:19.81) and 1,500 meters (4:54.85). It was her third straight win in the 800. Myers took top honors in the 100 (12.31) and 200 meters (25.69). Her victory in the 200 marked the third consecutive year she has walked away with gold in that event - making her the first to three-peat in that event since Kristin Forbes of Rhodes in 2007-2009.
- TLU's Hannah Kipp gave the Bulldogs a fifth individual win on Saturday when she took top honors in the discus. Her winning toss of 134' 4" was the second-longest in SCAC championship meet history. The Bulldogs also capped the meet with a first-place finish in the 4x400 relay. The team of Ashley Hooks, Myers, Kylee Garcia and Rynard earned TLU's first-ever win in the event with a time of 4:04.49.
- Southwestern earned one individual title in the women's shot put as Jaelynn Stewart took top honors with a toss of 38' 5 1/2".
