SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Trinity juniors Mary Kaffen and Zoe Kaffen captured the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Southwest "A" Doubles Championship Sunday at the Butch Newman Tennis Center.
The top-seeded Kaffens, who are twins, defeated the #4 team of Frida Mudsam and Kathy Joseph of the University of Texas-Dallas in Sunday's final. The Tiger tandem won the first set 7-6 (9) and took the second 6-2.
Kaffen and Kaffen qualified for the ITA Cup to be held October 11-14 in Rome, Georgia. The singles and doubles winners then qualify for the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships November 7-11 at Surprise, Arizona.
