CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars were announced Monday and seven Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference student-athletes were recognized. Full Release
Overall, a total of 1,097 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with this prestigious honor.
Texas Lutheran University led the way for the SCAC with four Bulldogs being named to the list. Juniors Summer Swift and Kaley Martin were honored for the third consecutive year, while sophomore Kristen Cox picked up her second-straight nod. Senior Kristen Laird was also honored.
Southwestern University was represented by three golfers earning WGCA Scholar All-America honors. Junior Leilani McDaniel earned the honor for the third consecutive year, while junior Emily Campbell and sophomore Julia Wofford each collected their second-consecutive award.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
