LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - All eight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women’s soccer teams were in action last week with a full slate of league games on the schedule.
Centenary, which tied a program record with six-straight wins to open a season, sits at the top of the table with 12 points following wins last week against Dallas (4-1) and Schreiner (1-0). The Ladies first loss of the season came at the hands of Trinity, who defeated Centenary, 5-0, on Sunday and is currently in a tie for second with nine points. The TU Tigers have a pair of games in hand and have yet to concede a goal in league play after also collecting wins against Texas Lutheran (6-0) and Austin College (9-0) last week.
Johnson & Wales, despite losing to Southwestern last Tuesday, 1-0, are tied with Trinity in second with a 3-1 mark in league play, bouncing back to defeat Texas Lutheran in overtime on Sunday, 1-0. The Pirates, which currently stand in fourth on the table after opening conference play with their victory over the Wildcats, closed out the week without surrendering a goal following a non-conference victory against Huston-Tillotson, 2-0, on Sunday. In other non-conference action, Dallas went on the road and lost to Univ. of the Southwest, 4-0, on Saturday.
SCAC play returns this weekend with six contests scheduled, highlighted by Southwestern hosting Centenary on Friday and Johnson & Wales traveling to Trinity on Sunday.
