LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - It was a full weekend of SCAC Women’s Soccer competition last week, highlighted by Trinity (5-1-1, 4-0-0) claiming its 100th consecutive regular season league victory on Sunday.
The TU Tigers shutout Johnson & Wales (4-4-0, 3-3-0), 9-0, to extend their SCAC winning streak to 100, dating back to 2008. The current streak is the longest in NCAA Div. III Women’s Soccer history for consecutive conference games won. In four league games this year, Trinity has scored 29 goals and have yet to concede a goal.
Southwestern (5-2-0, 3-0-0) remained unbeaten in league action last week with pair of shutout victories, extending its shutout winning streak to four, the longest since 2012. The Pirates hosted Centenary (6-3-0, 4-3-0) and Schreiner (2-4-1, 1-3-0), defeating the Ladies, 4-0, on Friday and the Mountaineers, 1-0, on Sunday.
Schreiner split SCAC contests last week, defeating JWU,4-1, on Friday before falling to Southwestern on Sunday. In the final league game of the week, Texas Lutheran (2-4-1, 1-3-1) scored four goals in the first half, including three in the first ten minutes, to knock off Centenary, 5-0.
A full slate of SCAC games continues this week, with two contests scheduled on Tuesday and three scheduled on both Friday and Sunday.
