Just like the AC men, the third-place finish for the 'Roos women (10-5 overall) at the SCAC tournament marks the third straight year the team has achieved its highest finish in program history.
Austin College jumped out to a 2-1 lead after doubles play. Diana Carvajalino and Melody Duong took the 8-6 win at line one and Katie Seibert and Georgia Moore prevailed, 8-4, at line three. Schreiner's Kate De Los Santos and Jennifer Garcia kept the Mountaineers in the match with an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles.
In singles play, the 'Roos swept the first set in each of the four matches on the court. Melody Duong won 6-1, 6-0 and No. 1 and Anna Sergiovanni made it 4-1 with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3. Diana Carvajalino clinched the match for Austin College with a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
The fourth-place finish is the best for the Schreiner women since the 2016 tournament.
