LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball schedule continued into week three with six teams hitting the diamond last week.
Fourth-ranked Trinity finished 2-1 in its three-game series with Endicott over the weekend. The Tigers offense was sparked by junior Michael Goodrich, who collected six hits including a home run, five RBI and a stolen base with a week-leading .600 batting average. Junior Mark Tindall took the victory on the bump in the series-opener, striking out six, and junior James Nittoli also earned a win on the mound for the Tigers.
Third-ranekd Texas Lutheran dropped its series with UT-Dallas winning one of its three contests over the course of the weekend. Junior Tyler Cauley led the Bulldogs' offense with a .500 batting average, knocking in four runs on as many hits. On the mound, Dylan Murrell picked up the decision in TLU's 5-1 win on Saturday.
Centenary went 2-2 with a wins over Belhaven and Millsaps over the weekend. Sophomore Peyton Cormane paced the Gents at the plate with eight runs on eight hits and two RBI. In Centenary's second game against Belhaven on Saturday, freshman Matt Parker struck out three batters over 3.1 innings.
Southwestern earned a 2-1 record in its weekend series with McMurry. Junior Daniel Montgomery Jr. contributed four hits and three runs for the Pirates while junior right-hander Colton Hunter struck out eight in a complete-game effort on Sunday.
Dallas went 2-1 on the week with wins over Blackburn and Wilmington (Ohio). The Crusaders were paced by Jordan Stickler who tallied six hits and four runs, posting a .545 batting average. Junior Zachary Taylor struck out eight while picking up the win against Blackburn.
Schreiner splits its Tuesday double-header with Howard Payne. In the win, Austin Contreras added three runs on as many hits. Over the weekend, the Mountaineers were swept by Concordia (Tex.).
The SCAC baseball season continues on Tuesday when Austin College hosts Dallas Christian for a double-header.
