LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - A double-dual involving three Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's swimming teams highlighted action this weekend.
Senior Mary Rose Donahue, sophomore Sarah Dunbar and freshman India Phillips each won two individual events to lead the Colorado College women's swimming and diving team to a pair of victories over Austin College and University of the Ozarks in a double-dual meet in Sherman, Texas.
The Tigers captured first place in every race on their way to defeating Austin, 196-35, and Ozarks, 199-18.
In that same double-dual, Austin College cruised to a 138-36 victory over Ozarks.
The only other SCAC team in action was Trinity University who defeated NCAA Division II opponent UT-Permian Basin by the score of 156-100.
The Tiger men beat the Falcons 138-123, and Trinity's women emerged as the winners by a score of 156-100.
First-year swimmer Mabel Fowler was the champion of three individual events, taking first place in the 1,000-yard freestyle, 200-yard freestyle, and 200-yard backstroke.
Fowler joined Liz Ryan, Rebecca Andruzzi, and Lindsay Hagmann on the first-place 200-yard medley relay team. Hagmann, Ryan, Star Rosales, and Elizabeth Nelson were the winning quartet of the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Andruzzi also picked up two individual champion in the 100-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly.
