CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars were announced Tuesday and eight Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference student-athletes were recognized. Full Release
Overall, a total of 1,011 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with this prestigious honor.
Southwestern University led the conference with four golfers on the list, including junior Mikayla Miller who earned the honor for the third consecutive year, and sophomore Leilani McDaniel, who was honored for the second straight year. Junior Emily Campbell and freshman Julia Wofford also earned All-American Scholar recogntion.
Texas Lutheran University had three golfers earn the honor, including sophomores Summer Swift and Kaley Martin who were honored for the second consecutive year. Freshman Kristen Cox also earned the honor.
Junior Erin Rostro of Centenary College was the league's eighth honoree.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
