DENVER, Colo.
- The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division III Membership Committee announced that Johnson & Wales University's Denver Campus (JWU Denver) has been accepted as a Provisional Member, effective September 1, 2018.

The Wildcats have spent the 2017-2018 year as an Exploratory member, learning more about the NCAA and evaluating if it is the right direction for Wildcat Athletics. JWU Denver submitted their provisional application in early January and were accepted as a Provisional member earlier today. As a Provisional member, the Wildcats will begin a four year process in 2018-2019 to become active members of NCAA Division III. Each year, JWU Denver will provide reports and information to the Membership committee regarding the athletics program for evaluation. The membership committee will determine if an institution has met expectations to advance to the next year of provisional status or if an athletics program must repeat a provisional year.

With their provisional membership, Johnson & Wales University will begin their membership in the Southern Collegiate Athletics Conference (SCAC) in 2018-2019 and play a full slate of conference games.
