CLAREMONT, Calif. – The 15th-ranked Tiger men's tennis team was eliminated from the third round of the NCAA Playoffs in a 5-1 loss to #5 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CA) College on Saturday afternoon.

After falling behind with a loss at line three doubles, Trinity doubles dynamos Wilson Lambeth and Jordan Pitts tied the match with an 8-3 win at line one. Claremont was able to take the final doubles point to carry a 2-1 lead into singles play.

Wilson Hamilton was handed a loss at line one to start off singles, then Tilden Oliver suffered a similar fate in his #5 singles matchup. Jace Akagi-Okuma's loss at line four clinched the match for the Stags, as the Tigers were unable to get any momentum going in singles play.

Trinity falls to 16-12 on the year with the loss, while Claremont reaches 30 wins against just three defeats this season. Claremont also advances to the NCAA Quarterfinals with the win.

Lambeth and Pitts will return to Claremont, California, to compete in the NCAA Doubles Championships, which will be hosted by Claremont May 24-26.
