India Phillips each won two individual events Saturday to lead the Colorado College women's swimming and diving team to a pair of victories over Austin College and University of the Ozarks in a double-dual meet in Sherman, Texas.
The Tigers captured first place in every race on their way to defeating Austin, 196-35, and Ozarks, 199-18.
Donahue returned to the team after studying abroad in fine fashion, winning both diving events, while Dunbar won the 50- and 100-freestyle events and joined senior
Justina Zuckerman and sophomores
Jio Chang and
Selma Jukic on the 400-yard freestyle relay team that captured first place. Phillips, meanwhile, won the 200 IM and 500 freestyle races.
Also winning an event on Saturday were Chang (200 free), seniors
Emily Harrison (1000 free),
Ellen Silk (100 fly) and
Hannah Cooper (100 back), and freshman Emiliegh Rafidi (100 breaststroke).
In addition to the 400 free relay, the Tigers also won the meet-opening 200-yard medley relay, consisting of Harrison, Silk, and freshmen
Dervla Moore-Frederick and
Ellie Pfeiffer.
"It was exciting to see some new faces step up and post wins today," head coach
Anne Goodman James said. "We demonstrated the depth and versatility of our team."
Colorado College posted the top four spots in four events, the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 100 breaststroke and 3-meter diving.
The Tigers are idle until Nov. 17, when they will compete at the Phoenix Fall Classic in Chicago, Ill.
