LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - The season began to wind down for the seven baseball teams in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference, as one more team clinched a spot in the 2018 SCAC Baseball Championship.
Texas Lutheran University clinched the third spot in the conference tournament after earning a 2-1 series win over Southwestern University. The Pirates lone victory in the series kept their postseason hopes alive, as they have concluded league play.
Trinity University and Centenary College each picked up series wins, the Tigers defeating the University of Dallas and Centenary taking down Austin College. The two teams are now tied at 13-2 in conference play, with their match-up coming this weekend. The three-game series will prove to be the deciding factor in the race for a regular season title and the top seed in the conference tournament.
