LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. -- In voting done among members of the respective peer councils, Southwestern University was recognized as the Sports Information Staff of the Year, while Colorado College was selected as the Athletic Training Staff of the Year.
The Sports Information Staff of the Year award began prior to the 2016-17 season, while the Athletic Training Staff of the Year award was introduced ahead of the 2012-2013 season.
The Colorado College athletic training department is made up of eight staff members: Tom Monagan, Head Athletic Trainer, Jason Bushie, Certified Athletic Trainer, Holly Pechacek, Certified Athletic Trainer, Angie Matson-Rufenacht, Certified Athletic Trainer, Katie Lynch, Coordinator of Rehabilitation Services, Maryanne Fitzgerald, Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer, Jessica Kledzinski, Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer and Celina Wedlund, Athletics Insurance Coordinator.
The group handled the athletic training duties for two of the league's championship events this year, including the 2018 Basketball Championships and 2018 Tennis Championships.
The Southwestern University sports information department is made up of two staff members: Megan Hardin, Athletic Communications Director and James Hill, Assistant Athletic Communications Director.
Southwestern's sports information department handled media coverage and hosting duties for two spring championships -- golf and softball, while assisting with the league-hosted baseball championship.
