LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Four of the five Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's golf teams were in action this week at the Al Jones Jr. Memorial Tournament.
For the third tournament in a row, Centenary College's Jessica Varner captured the top individual honor, shooting a two round schore of 147 (+3). She shot the lowest round of the tournament on Tuesday, recording an even-par 72.
The Southwestern University Pirates captured the team title, finishing ahead of host University of Texas - Tyler by 18 strokes. The Pirates recorded a two-round score of 613 (+37) and had three golfers finish within the top-five.
Schreiner University finished the tournament tied for fourth place with California Lutheran, while Texas Lutheran University came in sixth. Centenary College finished in seventh place as a team, led by the strong performance of Varner.
