Trinity Holds Slim Lead After Day One of SCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championship

THE COLONY, Texas - The Trinity University Tigers hold a slim, four-point lead after the first day of the 2018 SCAC Swim Championships. Official Website | Wednesday's Complete Results | Photo Gallery

The Trinity men took an easy two first-place finishes to keep them on top, but the Southwestern men earned two runner-up finishes to keep within striking distance.

The 200-yard medley relay quad of Trinity consisting of Charles Clark, Elliott Fleming, Shamzi Alkaff and Cole Rezsofi touched the pad in 1:31.95 and set a new championship meet record.

The Tigers then followed up that record performance in the 800-yard freestyle relay with top performances from Clark, Alkaff, Beau Tipton and Nate Borchers in 6:54.24. 

The team standings after the first two events is as follows:

1) Trinity University - 108
2) Southwestern University - 104
3) Colorado College - 86
4) Centenary College - 80
5) Austin College - 66
6) McMurry University - 52
7) University of the Ozarks - 44
