LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Four of the league's five women's golf teams competed at the Schreiner University Spring Shootout.
The Trinity University women, playing in their first event of the spring season, finished atop the leaderboard and earned the team's second consecutive victory of the 2017-18 season. The Tigers finished the fall season by winning their Alamo City Classic in October.
Trinity finished up the second day with a combined team score of 318 to finish with a 637 two-day total - seven strokes ahead of second place Southwestern University (644).
Trinity junior Emilee Strausburg finished first in the women's field with a combined score of 153 over the two day event. She carded a 79 after Tuesday's round after having shot a 74 the first day. The individual win is the first in the career for Strausburg, who has finished in the top 10 in all four of the events this season.
Rounding out the other SCAC competitors, the host school Schreiner University finished fifth with a two-day total of 661 and Texas Lutheran University was fifth with a team score of 690.
Hardin-Simmons University placed third with a two-day total of 653, University of Mary Hardin-Baylor was fourth at 659, and McMurry University finished seventh at 736.
