INDIANAPOLIS - Trinity University swimmer Lindsay Hagmann earned All-America honors in the women's 50 freestyle to highlight the first day at the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships in Indianapolis, Ind.
Hagmann finished eighth in the 50 free prelims Wednesday morning, setting a new Trinity and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference record with her time of 23.23 seconds to qualify for the finals. In the finals that evening, Hagmann improved her record time to 23.16 seconds to earn a sixth-place finish.
Hagmann has now earned All-America honors four times in her career, including Honorable Mention All-American in last year's 50 free event at the NCAA Championships.
Joining her in competition Wednesday was first-year divers Daniel Valmassei and Anthony Liva. The two competed in the NCAA Championships for the first time, which also marked the first Tiger men's divers to qualify for nationals since 2008.
Valmassei finished 18th with a score of 409.55 in Wednesday's 3-meter diving competition, while Liva was 22nd with his score of 384.05 on the high board.
