LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - All six of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference women's track and field teams competed last week.
Austin College, University of Dallas and Southwestern University traveled to the East Texas Invitational last week.
For AC, Hannah Richards finished 17th in the 1500-meter with a time of 5:08.44, while Bailey Clark came in 35th with a time of 5:49.05 and Danielle Lozano established a new personal record with a time of 6:02.25. Alex Quinn had an outstanding finish in the 5000-meter race, placing fourth overall with a time of 20:07.04, while Eden Llamas finished strong as well with a seventh place finish and a time of 20:40.59.
Dallas was led by Emma Kate Callahan, Alondra Hurtado and Amy Foot who each garnered PRs in the 800 meter run. The trios respective times were: 2:30.45, 2:50.68, and 2:51.50. Callahan placed 11th in the standings. Nicole Zurita ran a PR in the 100 Meter-Dash with a 15.81 time. Mary Korth boasted season-best scores in the 800m (2:54.77) and 1,500 Meters (5:53.40). In field events, Jules Oliveti threw personal records in the hammer throw (26.96m) and discus throw (33.27m). Anna Brunk set a PR distance in the javelin throw with a 20.37m result.
Southwestern's best result for the women was Morgan Gilpin, who earned a fourth place finish in the javelin at 29.69m. Trinh Ha took 11th in the 5000 meter run with a time of 21:42.99. In the field events, Erin Toro (shot put) and Julia Glandt (discus) each took 10th place.
Colorado College traveled north to Golden for the Kit Mayer Invite last week. The Tigers' 4x100 relay made up of McKenna Schnack, Samantha Gilbert, Asmeda Sparling and Camille Weaver, continued to improve this season, once again breaking the CC record with a time of 50.03 seconds. Weaver also picked up two individual top-10 results on Saturday, tying for third in the high jump at 5'3", and sixth in the triple jump with a leap of just over 35 feet.
Other top-10 results included Gilbert finishing fifth in the 100-meter dash in 12.81 seconds and Lily O'Dowd ninth in 1,500 at 5:09.99. Ayla Loper placed seventh in the high jump and 10th in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.21.
Texas Lutheran University and Trinity University competed at the University of the Incarnate Word Invitational.
For the Bulldogs, Ashley Rynard won the 800 meter run, while Ashley Myers improved on her national rankins in the 100 and 200. Rynard beat a field of 18 runners in the 800. She crossed the line in 2:13.96, just off her season-best of 2:13.70. Myers moved up to 15th nationally in the 100 with a time of 12.25. She now sits 17th nationally in the 200 after a time of 25.18. Cortnee Priour registered a pair of third-place finishes in the long jump and triple jump, while Kylee Garcia took third behind Rynard and an unattached runner in the 800, collecting a time of 2:19.54. Asia Fernandez won the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.41, and K'Alicia Henderson claimed a runner-up finish in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:10.41.
The Bulldogs went 4-5-6 in the women's discus, led by Hannah Kipp. Jayda Simmons and Dejah Carr registered fourth and fifth place finishes in the hammer.
For Trinity, Stella Affognon and Molly McCullough both posted personal records that also put them fifth on the Tiger record books. Affognon was 14th in the shot put, reaching 11.79 meters on her third and final throw. That mark ranks her second in school history, and she is less than a meter away from the record of 12.49 meters set by Kathy Bieser in 1997. McCullough established a new personal-best in the 1500 meter run, posting a time of 4:47.40 at today's meet. McCullough came in as the fifth-best in school history, but improved her previous best time by nearly 30 seconds. Closing out Friday's top finishes, Emma MacEachern led Trinity's women in the 5000 meter run by finishing in sixth place overall in under 19 minutes.
Saturday, Britney Sullivan reclaimed the school record in the triple jump on Saturday, reaching a mark of 12.04 meters. Sullivan also had a personal-best race in the 100 meter dash, finishing in 12.63 seconds. Andy Garza and Triniti Lemmons both set new personal records as well, and each athlete moved into the top 10 in school history. Garza jumped 11.22 meters in the triple jump to tie for fourth in school history, while Lemmons finished the 100 meter dash in 12.55 seconds to move into the top five.
Nkolika Nweke was third in the 100 meter dash with her time of 12.08 seconds, which is just 0.04 from the Tiger record time she set just last year. Elizabeth Peters also finished eighth in a time of 12.45 seconds, which is just shy of the personal best that she set last year. Nweke and Peters were sixth and seventh in the 200 meter dash as well. Rylie Edwards was sixth in the 400 meter dash and third in the 100 meter hurdles.
