LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Centenary and Dallas were in action this week at the LeTourneau University Pinecrest Invitational.
The Crusaders and Gents finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 11-team field. Dallas posted a 307 in the third round to compile a 912 overall in the two-day competition, while Centenary carded a final round 323 to finish 16 shots behind UD at 928.
Tyler Junior College and Bethany College (KS) won the tournament with an 875. Houston-Victoria scored a 898, while University of Texas at Tyler finished third and with the lowest NCAA Division III finish at 903.
Dallas junior Thomas Schuberg led the Crusaders with a 224 overall and tied for 13th. Freshman Robby Evans also finished within the top 20 (tied 16th) with a 227 in the three rounds. His 76 on Tuesday was the second best result for Dallas.
For Centenary, freshman Austin Craig finished tied with Evans for 16th, turning in a final round 81 (+14) for a 227 (+14) three-round total. Sophomore Reed Balcerowicz tallied the best round of the day for the Gents with a 77 (+6). With a three-round total of 229 (+16), Balcerowicz finished tied for 23rd.
