LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - Four Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men's golf teams were in action this week with three of the four competing at the UMHB Crusader Fall Invitational.
Trinity University took first-place honors in the nine-team field, posting a two-day total of 589 (+13) to defeat fellow conference member Texas Lutheran by nine strokes. The Bulldogs, who led after Monday's first-round, finished with a 598 (+22). The University of Dallas was sixth with a two-day score of 610 (+34).
Trinity's Dawson Dally took individual medalist honors with rounds of 70 and 74 to post an even part score of 144. He was two shots clear of a quartet of golfers who finished tied for second with two-day totals of 146 - three of which were SCAC golfers. Jacob Wade of Dallas and Matthew McArthur and Wyatt Blezinger, both of Texas Lutheran, were among those who shot 2 over par at Stonetree Golf Club.
Centenary College was also in action on Monday and Tuesday, finishing in ninth place at the Henderson State Invitational. Three Gents finished in the top-50 in a competitive field featuring numerous NCAA Division II teams - led by freshman Austin Craig who shot 78-76-76 (230, +14) to finish in a tie for 25th.
