Centenary's Petreas Earns Second SCAC Men's Soccer Elite 19 Honor

SUWANEE, Ga. -- In an announcement made today from conference headquarters, Centenary College's Jaron Petreas was named the 2022 SCAC Men’s Soccer Elite 19 award winner.

Petreas, a senior midfielder from Denton, Texas, currently holds a cumulative GPA of 4.000 in Economics with a minor in legal studies and earned Second Team All-SCAC honors this season. Petreas ends his time with the Gents ranked second in career goals (12), tied for third in assists (6), second in points (30), first in shots (93), and tied for third in game-winning goals (3). He started all 59 matches that he played in and scored seven goals this past season – tied for second-most in a single-season in the Div. III era.

Petreas is now the first two-time SCAC Men's Soccer Elite 19 winner, previously winning during the COVID shortened 2020-21 season.

Established prior to the 2018-19 academic year and meant to recognize the best of the best within each conference sponsored-sport as it relates to both academic and athletic achievement, the SCAC Elite 19 is awarded to the student-athlete who has completed the equivalent of at least 60 credit hours at his or her current institution and has at least a cumulative 3.25 GPA. The student-athlete must also have earned All-SCAC First or Second Team honors in his/her sport for that particular season.
