Trinity Women Extend Lead after Second Day of SCAC Swimming & Diving Championship

Trinity leads with 353 points while Colorado College is in second place with 258 points and Southwestern University sits in third with 254 points. 

The Trinity Tigers took top-billing in the 200-yard freestyle releay for the third time in four years and for the eighth time in the past 11 years after the quartet of Caroline Myers, Jules Wiehrdt, Rachel Brown, and Emma Hagan touched the wall in 1:34.86. The time was good enough for an NCAA "B" cut time as well. Colorado College's Kate Brush (pictured) broke a Trinity stranglehold on the 500-yard freestyle as she became the first non-Trinity winner of the event since Centre's Clark Weber took top honors in 2012. Brush touched the wall in 5:02.98 while becoming the first Colorado College Tiger to win the event. Audrey Jacobson of Trinity was second after she clocked a time of 5:03.97. First-year Neely Burns of Trinity won her first career individual SCAC title when she touched the wall first in the 200-yard IM in a SCAC championship meet record and B cut time of 2:03.48. Finishing second the previous two years in the 50-yard freestyle, Trinity's Hagan closed out the night with an individual title in the 50-yard freestyle. She touched the wall in a B cut time of 23.57. Finishing second was Emma Williams of Southwestern who clocked a time of 23.97. Rounding out the top-three was Emma Frey of Southwestern who tallied a mark of 23.99. 50-Yard Freestyle Interview
