Centenary's Reichek Named NCBWA Division III Rookie of the Week

DALLAS, Texas – National honors continue to roll in for Centenary’s Aidan Reichek as he was named the Division III National Rookie of the Week by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association. Complete Release

Reichek, who was named SCAC Pitcher-of-the-Week on Monday, led the Gents with a no-hitter in game two of Centenary’s SCAC doubleheader on Saturday against the Crusaders. The no-hitter is the first thrown since Matthew Devillier held Austin College hitless on April 20, 2018 at home. Reichek and Devillier’s no-hitters are the only two in the division III era (2012-present) in program history. He faced 24 batters and threw 70 pitches with 50 strikes thrown, allowed no walks, struck out seven batters and ended with a 0.00 ERA.

The Houston, Texas native was also named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

Reichek is the second-straight SCAC starting pitcher to earn NCBWA weekly honors. Last week, Trinity’s Jackson Teer was named NCBWA National Pitcher of the Week. Reichek is the second Gent in as many years to earn NCBWA National Rookie of the Week, joining teammate Tyler Herrera who earned the accolade last season.

Gordon College’s CJ Demers was named the National Hitter-of-the-Week and SUNY Cortland's Dylan Beers was named the National Pitcher-of-the-Week.
