RICHARDSON, Texas -- No. 16 Trinity University Women's Tennis had their season come to an end on Saturday afternoon when they lost to No. 3 Pomona-Pitzer Colleges in the second round of the NCAA III Championship tournament.

The Tigers came out strong and scored first with a mark of 8-5 coming from the sophomore duo, Ruth Hill and Olivia Kim, taking down the No. 2 doubles team in the West.

The Sagehens responded quickly with their own identical pair of 8-5 victories in lines two and three, their regionally sixth-ranked partners taking down Trinity's eighth-ranked pairing of junior Cate Cushing and first-year Trinity Levy.

Pomona-Pitzer continued to dominate as they rolled into singles play, taking down juniors Ellie Hughes and Ella Cummings just minutes apart in lines five and six, respectively, to put the Sagehens just one point from clinching.

Kim battled it out in line two, but ultimately fell with a mark of 6-3, 6-3 to advance Pomona-Pitzer to the next round of the tournament.
