BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Trinity University senior Ashlyn Milton of No. 4/5 Women's Basketball was named the 2023 Region 10 Most Outstanding Player Tuesday in D3hoops.com's release of All-Region teams throughout NCAA III.

Milton led the Tigers (28-2) to a return trip to the NCAA III Championship third round this season as the team's leading scorer (403 points, 13.4ppg) while finishing second to her own school record (78) with 75 made three-pointers this season on a 41.7-percent clip that finished the season ranked 12th among all NCAA III players.

The four-year career for Milton landed 12th in program history for total points (1,240) with the program's record for made threes in hand for most of the season, a mark left at 230 makes for her career. The senior's 39.7-percent rate from beyond the arc for her career is also a program record.

Milton is the third Trinity player in the award's history (2005-06) to earn the region's top honors, marking consecutive seasons with last year's winner, Hailey Coleman ’22, along with Monica Holguin '17 in her senior season.

Senior Maggie Shipley joined Milton in Tuesday's release as a second-team selection in Region 10. Shipley was Trinity's second-leading scorer (12.1ppg) with 13 double-digit scoring performances this season, eight of which came from the bench. Shipley eclipsed 20 points three times in 2022-23 including her 30-point barrage of Hardin-Simmons University in the NCAA III San Antonio Regional final on March 4.

Milton and Shipley's coinciding selections marks the first time since the 2016-17 season that two Tigers earned all-region status in the same season as then-junior Micah Weaver '18 joined Holguin's Player of the Year selection as a second-team honoree.

Trinity marked its fifth appearance in the NCAA III third round in program history this season through its 28-2 record that featured a 15-1 mark in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play en route to the program's 10th conference title. Head Coach Cameron Hill marked his third NCAA III third round appearance and seventh league title as the leader of the Tiger women in his 11th season.
