Caleb Manifold, Trinity University, Men's Swimming & Diving - Character & Community

CALEB MANIFOLD OF TRINITY UNIVERSITY, a sophomore on the men's swimming and diving team from San Antonio, Texas, has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Character and Community Male Student Athlete of the Week for the week beginning November 14.

The SCAC Character & Community award honors the efforts of student-athletes who excel in the field of athletics, and also serve their campus and community.

Caleb has taken a strong interest in the area of mental health awareness in his time as a Tiger. He attributes much of his passion toward the movement to his time spent with Bexar County’s District 7 Fire and Rescue, a station responsible for the northwest portion of the county that encompasses San Antonio, as its public information officer.

The opportunity with District 7 was important for the Trinity sophomore as he grew up in a family of first-responders in various positions in healthcare, mainly related to emergency-room work.

Caleb’s first commitment to raising mental health awareness led to his involvement in Trinity’s chapter of The Hidden Opponent, a non-profit organization founded by former NCAA I student-athletes that has grown to have many campus chapters.

Manifold has taken on the Vice President role within Trinity’s chapter, and has had an impactful hand in The Hidden Opponent’s efforts on the San Antonio campus alongside President and chapter founder, Kai McClelland, a sophomore member of Trinity’s cross country and track and field teams.
