AUSTIN, Texas – No. 9/10 Trinity University Women's Soccer collected three spots on the College Sports Communicators (CSC; formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-America list in the organization's announcement Wednesday, including two spots on the first team for the first time in program history. Complete Release
Senior Ashlyn Zingelmann and sophomore Michaela Bosco became just the second and third first-team Academic All-Americans for the Tiger program after the selection of Emily Jorgens following the 2013 campaign.
Senior Bailey Meyer joined the first-team duo as a second-team selection, marking the third time in program history that three players were awarded Academic All-America in a single season.
Meyer became the third player in program history to earn All-American status from the United Soccer Coaches on top of the academic honors from CSC in the same season alongside Jorgens (2013) and Yasmeen Farra (2016). All three Tigers earned first-team honors from the United Soccer Coaches (known as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America prior to 2017) while Jorgens remains the lone Trinity women's soccer player to have collected first-team recognition from both awards.
Trinity's trio made up three of five players selected as CSC Academic All-Americans in NCAA III Region 10, joined by a second-team selection—Maren Fields of University of Mary Hardin-Baylor—and a third-team selection—Ella Merte of Pacific Lutheran University, both of which participated in the 2022 NCAA III Women's Soccer Championship regional, hosted by the Tigers in San Antonio.
