AIDAN REICHEK OF CENTENARY COLLEGE, a freshman right-handed pitcher from Houston, Texas, has been named the SCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for games played from Monday, March 20 through Sunday, March 26. SCAC Baseball Release - Week 7
Reichek led the Gents with a no-hitter in game two of Centenary’s SCAC doubleheader on Saturday against the Crusaders. The no-hitter is the first thrown since Matthew Devillier held Austin College hitless on April 20, 2018 at home. Reichek and Devillier’s no-hitters are the only two in the division III era (2012-present) in program history. He faced 24 batters and threw 70 pitches with 50 strikes thrown, allowed no walks, struck out seven batters and ended with a 0.00 ERA.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Freshman pitcher Tres Organ of Southwestern was outstanding in a pair of relief appearances last week for the Pirates. Organ allowed just one hit in 5.1 innings of work without allowing a single run. In addition he struck out seven batters and finished the week with a win and a save in relief. Junior right-handed pitcher Harrison Durow of Trinity held a 1.42 ERA in two relief appearances for the Tigers last week, recording nine strikeouts in 6.1 innings and yielding just one run on two hits.
