KAMERYN ROEHRIG OF SCHREINER UNIVERSITY, a freshman goalkeeper from Cedar Park, Texas, has been named the SCAC Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week for games played through Sunday, October 17th. SCAC Men's Soccer Release (Week 7)
Roehrig made the most of his only start in net last week, anchoring a Mountaineer defensive effort with four saves in posting a 1-0 shutout victory over Austin College last Sunday. It marked the first shutout of his career and helped Schreiner secure a victory over the ‘Roos for the first time since the 2015 season. It marked the second win in SCAC play this year for the Mountaineers, the first time since the 2018 season that Schriner has won multiple conference contests. It was also the second SCAC shutout of the year for Schreiner, which is a first since the 2015 season and marked just the third total shutout since the start of the 2016 year. Roehrig now leads the SCAC with 75 saves on the year.

Junior goalkeeper Jack Viles of Southwestern recorded four saves and posted a pair of shutouts in 200 total minutes of action to help the Pirates post a 1-0-1 record on the road last weekend with a win over Centenary (1-0) and a double overtime draw against St. Thomas (0-0). Senior defender Luis Bencomo of St. Thomas solidified a defensive unit last weekend for the Celts that allowed just two goals in two fixtures. Bencomo also came up huge on the offensive end of the pitch, scoring the tying goal in the 89th minute of action against TLU that forced OT and allowed St. Thomas to earn a critical three points in double overtime against the Bulldogs. Senior defender Jacob Galan of Trinity anchored a backline for the Tigers that posted a pair of shutouts last weekend in wins over Austin College and Dallas and he chipped in offensively with an assists in the win over the Crusaders. Galan and the Tigers allowed just seven total shots in two matches.
