Kirk went 2-0 at No. 1 singles for the Mountaineers over the weekend, which included the team's only point in a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Max Karseno in Friday's loss to East Texas Baptist. He also picked up a hard-fought 6-4, 2-6, 10-3 victory over Covenant's Ben Onufrock on Saturday.
Other Outstanding Performances in the SCAC:
First-year Jamie O'Shea of St. Thomas went 2-0 on the week, picking up a victory at line one against Howard Payne and at line two against McMurry. He earned the 6-3, 6-4 victory against McMurry and followed with a 7-6 (4), 6-2 victory against his opponent from Howard Payne. Junior Oscar Roy of Southwestern earned a come-from-behind victory over Ben Onufrock of Covenant, 1-6, 6-1, 6-3, at No. 1 singles on Friday in the Pirates' 6-3 victory over the Scots.
