Ross led the Mountaineers to a pair of road wins last weekend, knocking off Austin College, 86-70, and defeating Dallas, 68-67. He recorded back-to-back double-digit scoring performances, highlighted by his 19-points, seven rebounds, six steals (a career-high), and two blocks in the win over the ‘Roos. Ross averaged 18.5 points (8-for-13), 10.5 rebounds, 3.5 steals an 2.0 blocks in last weekend’s contests. After a perfect weekend of SCAC play, Schreiner snaps a 0-4 start. They sit at 2-4 in the conference standings, 8-7 overall.
Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior guard A.J. Clark of Trinity University was dominant in three games last week, scoring in double-figures. He opened the week with 10 points against Colorado College, ending the Tigers’ perfect SCAC record, followed by 16 points in a win over Dallas and 13 against Austin College. For the week, he averaged 13 points on 42.9 percent shooting. Clark also added 5.7 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 2.3 steals per contest. Sophomore forward Devin Philio of Colorado College recorded a 8.3 points, 6.0 rebounds and 1.7 steals over a three game span last week. Philio recorded a weekend high of 14 points against Texas Lutheran and led the Tigers to a 2-1 record last week.
