Ross posted a pair double-doubles last weekend, leading the Mountaineers to a pair of wins to open up the 2024-25 season, defeating Howard Payne and Hardin-Simmons at home. Ross opened the season with an impressive 30 point, 11 rebound performance over the Yellow Jackets and then posted a 13 point, 15 rebound effort over the Cowboys.  The senior averaged 21.5 points on 60.7 percent shooting, 13 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 1.5 steals.

Other outstanding performances in the SCAC:
Senior guard Craig Collier of Centenary scored a game-high 21 points in the Gents' season-opening 78-75 loss at home to Arlington Baptist last Friday night. Collier was 7-for-21 from the floor in 37 minutes. He was 4-for-12 from beyond the arc, 3-for-3 at the FT line, and had three rebounds, three steals, and two assists.  Junior forward Asher Nofziger of Colorado College led the Tigers to a perfect 2-0 weekend to open the season with wins over Pacific and Bethany Lutheran. He finished the weekend averaging 21.5 points, 1.5 blocks, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. He dished out a career-high 28 points on Saturday against Bethany Lutheran. In the same game, he grabbed 10 boards, two assists and a steal. Senior forward Jack Boyle of Dallas was outstanding to open the 2024-25 season, averaging a triple-double to help the Crusaders post a 1-1 record through two games. Boyle averaged 10.0 points, 13.5 rebounds and 10.5 assists per game, highlighted by a triple-double in a loss to Lyon to open the season. In the loss Boyle posted 16 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. Sophomore guard Cedrick Dodd of Ozarks led the Eagles to a big season-opening win against Hendrix College scoring 18, recording three steals and pulling down seven rebounds. Dodd was a perfect 8-of-8 from the free throw line and hit a pair of three-pointers in the win. Senior forward Andrew Adebo of St. Thomas scored a game-high 17 points, shooting a remarkable 75 percent from the field (6-for-8), including 100 percent from beyond the arc (2-for-2) and the free-throw line (3-for-3) to lead the Celts to an opening season win over LeTourneau. Adebo’s efficiency on offense was matched by his strong presence on the boards, collecting eight rebounds, along with three assists and one steal in just 22 minutes of play.  Junior guard Mason Wallace of Texas Lutheran averaged 12.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game as the Bulldogs went 1-1 to open the season.  In the Bulldogs win over Howard Payne, Wallace recorded his first career double-double. Senior guard Jacob Harvey of Trinity led the Tigers to a pair of wins to open the 2024-25 season, defeating Bethany Lutheran 99-82 and edging Pacific (OR) 82-81. Harvey salvaged the undefeated start to the year with a buzzer-beating three-pointer in overtime to beat Pacific on Saturday, averaging 24.0 points per game over the weekend and going a perfect 16-for-16 at the free throw line.Harvey shot 12-for-29 (41.4%) overall from the field and hit 8-of-23 (34.8%) from three-point range. He opened the season with a 26-point effort against Bethany Lutheran, including a 5-for-11 performance from long-range. Harvey also finished with six rebounds, five assists, and zero turnovers over the weekend.
