Trinity Women Widen Lead after Second Day of SCAC Swimming & Diving Championship

Trinity leads with 352 points while Southwestern University is in second place with 260 points and Colorado College sits in third with 229 points. 

Southwestern University took home the program's second-ever win in the 200 freestyle relay with a league record and NCAA B cut time of 1:34.49. The quartet of Jesse Stovall, Zoe Garcia, Emma Williams and Emma Frey edged out Trinity by 0.22 seconds (1:34.71 - NCAA B cut) while earning the Pirates their first win in the event since 2019. Trinity's Mable Fowler earned the first individual win of the night as she touched the wall with a B cut time of 5:00.08. The win made history as Fowler tallied her 12th individual SCAC title, breaking the previous mark held by Sewanee's Jane H. Chapman from 1999-2002. The victory continued the Tigers' recent dominance in the event as it marked the 10th consecutive win dating back to 2013. Colorado College's Kate Brush took home second with a time of 5:07.05 while Meghan Magill of Trinity was third, clocking a time of 5:09.75. 500-Yard Freestyle Interview

Morgen Reyna took home top honors in the 200 IM by clocking a top time of 2:07.88. The was Reyna's third straight in the event. Reyna became just the third woman to win the 200 IM three straight years and the first since DePauw's Katie Dugan did so from 2005-2008. Sewanee's Chapman also won three consecutive 200 IM's from 1999-2001. Samantha Thiele of Austin College was second, touching the wall in 2:09.46. The 50 free saw Stovall {pictured} earn a victory with a mark of 23.22, which earned her a B cut time as well as the SCAC record. With the win, Stovall became the first woman in SCAC history to win the event four straight years. The victory also moved her into sixth place on the league's all-time individual title list with nine. Finishing second was Emma Hagan of Trinity with a B cut time of 23.31. 50-Yard Freestyle Interview
